How I've been getting free stuff: makeup, food, perfume, bath products and more

Naturally, as a college student I'm always looking for free things. Unfortunately there's too many services out there that give you free things and then "secretly" sign you up for a subscription or make you pay for shipping. It seems like nothing is actually free. HOWEVER, there is one website that I've been using that gives you items 100% free. They don't ask for your card info and don't even have you pay for shipping. It's called Influenster. I've been receiving boxes of free products from them every couple of months for a few years now. So far, I've received a couple dozen bags of chips, lots of candy, shampoo, Epsom salts, mascara, foundation, cough drops, candles, cake mixes and coffee, just to name a few. The most recent box they sent was a full bottle of Ralph Lauren Polo Cologne for the man. Score.

So here's the deal:

With Influenster, the products they are handing out are typically fairly new products to the market that need reviews and social buzz for endorsement and advertisement purposes, which is why they are able to give them to you completely free. Influenster has different campaigns from different companies they partner with, where they put together "vox boxes" of products and ship them out to people who meet their qualifications for that box. Influenster also does other things like give out some decent coupons, host competitions for prizes and such.

How do I sign up?:

Be sure to link all the social media accounts you have. This one is pretty important. The more followers you have, the more influential you are, so the more likely you'll be to get a box. The more followers you have, the better products you will receive. They also give away some pretty expensive brand-name products to top influencers.

Warning: make sure that when you sign up, you have an hour or two of free time to answer the snaps because there's a lot. Answering these questions are basically necessary in order to get a vox box.

SECRET PRO TIP: Say yes a lot of the questions. For example, if they ask where you buy groceries, check the boxes for the stores you've been to, even if you don't shop there often...I'm pretty sure they think I have a dog and buy designer handbags on the reg.

Why do this? It will qualify you for more boxes.

Also, be sure to actually do reviews for the products they give you! That's why they are sending the products in the first place. If you don't review, they won't send you boxes. Pretty straight-forward.

You can also earn badges and leave reviews for other products you've used in the past, but I don't do much of this. It will put you higher on their influential list though.

Also checking the Influenster website every couple months to answer new snaps and signing in often are beneficial. They like active Influensters, which makes sense. They always send an email if you qualify for a box so you can take a survey to confirm that you should indeed get the box. Look out for these!
